Welcome to today’s article. We are so happy to have you today.  Everyone, for the most part, has heard of Harry Houdini. He was a magician who used to lock himself in constraints and then magically get himself out of the binds within seconds. This magic would astound individuals back in the day. Locks have advanced quite a long way in the past 20-30 years since Harry Houdini’s days. Locks on windows have come a very long way indeed. 

      It used to be very easy for anyone to simply lift up a bit of the window and push on the brackets holding the window down backwards. And bibbidy bobbidy boo they could be in your house within seconds. If your windows are more than 20-30 old, you probably have these old locks. These were probably revolutionary back on the day but which are now very outdated. 

New windows locks have revolutionized security for homes today. Not even Harry Houdini himself could pick or trick his way into your home with new windows & locks (although we think it would be cool to see him try.) By having to push in the metal mechanism and then switching the latch open it prevents anyone from outside the ability to open your windows. They simply couldn’t perform these two actions from the outside. Firstly, because they are on the top of the inside of the window. Secondly, because they would need to be standing inside to push those mechanisms inward to trigger the lock. Clearly marked open and lock positions let you know if you need to lock up before you leave too.  

 Therefore, it is a multitude of times harder for anyone to break into your home nowadays. They can't bypass the locks.  Why is this?
